Marlee

Hello Friends!
I told my class that I would keep you all updated on Marlee. Well, I am in East Lansing, Michigan at Michigan State University. I brought Marlee here because my vet in Oak Park said that we just had to meet Dr. Mehler. There are two doctors taking care of Marlee and one student. This is a teaching hospital. This is a college where many students come to learn about animal medicine and to become veterinarians! We got here early on Monday morning. Marlee would not eat for two days and was very weak. So they admitted her into the hospital there and started her healing process. She had to get two tests on Monday and then we spoke with the doctor in the afternoon. He said that she had a shunt and would have to have surgery in the morning. Well they called me early this morning and Marlee did wonderful in surgery and they were just waiting for her to wake up. Then they called after she woke up and said that she was doing O.k. Marlee will be in the hospital now for the next three to five days. They want to make sure she is alright before they send her home. The best part is that after a month to two months Marlee will not even need her medicine anymore and she should grow to be a normal healthy puppy now. This is a picture of Marlee in the hospital. She was a very good girl and all the doctors and students loved her! I'll see you on Monday boys and girls have a great week!
